The New Creation, 2025
As the dragons live
in paradise, fed, loved and perfectly content a new creation enters the scene
and the long, winding path to destruction begins. Depicting the interloper,
humanity, as the first iteration of man and woman, a conjoined creature that
was split in two. Prior to that split there exists here a sense of balance, one
that is later disturbed. The new creation (humans) become divided, first into
two beings (Adam and Eve) then division is further created as they are cast out
of paradise. Adam was instructed never to eat from the Tree of
Knowledge, relates to Eve that she must not eat of it, nor should she touch
it, thus applying a ‘fencing of the law’ revealing a distrust of Eve. The dragon/serpent
character uses this to entrap Eve. We’re all familiar with how it goes- the
serpent shows Eve the Tree can be touched, making her doubt Adam. Believing
that he has lied to her, she eats the fruit and offers it to him. It serves as
the ultimate example of why men should never deceive their wives! Throughout
the series the dragon takes on different characters, sometimes serpent like,
other times winged, fire breathing is fearsome.
