Returning to the theme of endless waiting. In many ways the princesses and the monsters of the stories both act as foils to the hero. They both wait around, denied autonomy. While Andromeda is famous for being chained to the rocks, in the cavern series there is a reimagining. The monster and the captive retreat from the rocks to wait around and converse. The initial ink drawing was intricate and detailed, in the subsequent laser engravings and laser burn outs the figures became more simplified. The dragon monster and the princess woman begin to join together and the parts from one image fall into one another.
