Reimagining the Princess figure not as a helpless victim of circumstance, but as a powerful figure sharing the dark space with her dragon companion. Set deep inside a cave, the scene explores the questions left unanswered. The figure of Princess reoccurs throughout the series of works, sometimes as a specific princess, such as Andromeda, often as a symbolic figure. In creating the sketches and working and reworking different iterations the imagined, wordless conversations become objects. Each version of the cavern with the princess and dragon paused in time becomes another line in a dialogue we cannot hear. There is a mystical aspect to searching for the words through the process of drawing.
